MORE INFO: A highly distinguished teacher and performer, Jonathan Shachter is a multi-brass instrumentalist who teaches trumpet, tuba, trombone, cornet and euphonium (baritone). He initially received his Bachelor of Music from Virgina Tech, USA in 2002 before he was awarded his first scholarship in Vancouver to study and perform with Larry Knoop, Principal trumpeter of The Vancouver Symphony. He then progressed in receiving a scholarship to become the 'Graduate Assistant in Trumpet' for the University of Arkansas, USA. From 2004 - 2005 Jonathan received his final scholarship to become an 'Artist in Residence' at The Banff Centre for the Arts in Canada. During this time, Jonathan was fortunate enough to perform with a number of well-known international musicians including Allen Vizzutti (world reknowned trumpeter and composer) and Alain Trudel (Trombonist), and studied extensively with internationally acclaimed musicians like Simon Wynberg (Famous Guitarist), Kenny Aronoff (drummer), James Campbell, Hung-Kuan Chen, Jeff Khaner (Philadelphia Orchestra Flautist) and many more.

From playing on TV shows like 'The Huff' to playing in marching bands across various stadiums, Jonathan's experience has seen him to coach brass ensembles and individual players of all levels and backgrounds across various genres. He has taught in Israel, Japan, Canada, USA and Australia (where he now resides) and those who have learnt from him, have labelled him as 'an inspiring teacher'. Jonathan's lessons are individually tailored to meet each student's goals. You'll be learning the fundamentals of breathing, how to correctly hold the instrument, maintenance, technique, ear training, playing and much more. Jonathan brings to each lesson a richness of experience, performance and professionalism that transpires into the results of each student. He is an easy-going and friendly teacher who ensures a strong foundation is established whilst keeping the lessons fun, easy and not overwhelming.
